Well today Jokyshe marched off with his men. While he told me yesterday not to worry, how can one do anything but worry? He tried to convince me that he wouldn’t try to be a hero, but right after we had that conversation, one of his men came over and the two talked about how many goblin heads each would severe. I just don’t want him to underestimate these goblins. I couldn’t bare it if anything was to happen to him.
On a happier note, the annual kids festival is coming up soon. The annual kids festival is where kids from all over the kingdom come to experience life in the capital city. While they are here, we get to teach them about Thysiami too. I love teaching kids. You never know what to expect from them. Plus they take life so carefree, not like most adults that I know. I wish everyone could see the world as children. Things would be so much better.
Well, I need to go. I need to set up my teaching area. Talk to you soon…

Distraughting News
Oh what horror! Jokyshe is being sent to the eastern portions of the kingdom. Apparently, some goblins have been raiding the area lately with increasing frequency. Normally, such raids would be dealt with locally, but there has been news that the raids are extremely organized, not like the wild, unorganized raids normally experienced and easily dealt with.
Rumor has it that the king fears that a goblin shaman has taken control of several of the tribes and is now organizing the entire goblin population. My mom said that last time a shaman united the goblin tribes, many braves souls were lost in the ensuing battles. Hence my fear for Jokyshe being sent there as one of the two generals in command.
While generals don’t usually engage the enemy personally, Jokyshe is the type of man to personally lead his men into battle. This was the case in the other battle that I know of in which Jokyshe was involved. In that battle, he was lucky to have only received a broken leg. I have always thought that perhaps that experience might tame him down a bit. However, lately with his successes mounting, I am fearful that he will forget about what caused his near death experience (his ego). Hopefully, they find the shaman quickly and put an end to this uprising. Without a shaman to lead them, the goblins will fall into disarray.
On another note, Jokyshe has me a little bit confused. He always has professed to be a strong follower of Thysiami, but when I talked to him the other day about finding non-follows to share our faith with, he seemed turned off by the idea. While I know that sharing one’s faith is not always the easiest thing, Jokyshe almost seemed upset that I would even suggest something like that. My parents and I have always been strong believers in sharing our faith, so to have Jokyshe be turned off by the idea has me really concerned. While I don’t doubt his faith, I just hope his faith is not being put on the back burner with all his success he has been gaining lately.
Well, I am going to spend the afternoon with Jokyshe, so I will talk to you later…

Snowflake Festival
The festival was simply amazing! Jokyshe came by and picked me up in a small carriage drawn by a beautiful white mare. Of course Jokyshe didn’t look too bad himself. He was dressed in a black tux with a small tail. I thought that this time he wouldn’t be so stiff, but he seemed just as nervous as he ususally does when I stepped out the door.
“You...you...you look fantastic.” he stammered with his eyes bulging.
“Why thank you.” I said as I took his hand to help me into the carriage. “You know, you don’t have anything to be nervous about. It’s just me.” I said as he climbed in and gently clucked the white mare.
After a few moments, I shivered which allowed me to snuggle into Jokyshe. The look on his face when I did this was priceless. I thought he might pass out, but after a few seconds, he hesitantly placeed his arm around me and we continued to the palace without saying anything.
When we arrived, we were greeted and shown the list of the activities that were to be conducted for the evening. There would be the dinner and dance, of course, but there was also going to be a performance by the court jester and later on there would be entertainment by a traveling gypsy group. In between these main events were many less spectacular evens such as a dice tournament and a pie eating contest.
After dinner, Jokyshe lead me to the dance floor. I don’t know if it was the wine, or having done it before, but Jokyshe seemed to really be enjoying himself this time. As we danced, time seemed to stop as we held each other. While I know we will make countless other wonderful memories, the memory of tonight will stay impressed opon my heart forever. There is just something about having a band softly playing music as you hold the one you love closely. The sound and feeling of his heart beat as I lay my head against his chest and his touch as he wraps me gently in his strong arms. Then having him gently lower his head and feeling his warm breadth as he softly whispers in my ear how enchanting I looked in the candlelight. What a fantastic memory and feeling! I can still feel the chills streaming down my back as he whispered those words to me. If only every moment in life could be this enthralling!
The rest of the night paled in comparison and the night ended entirely too early for my liking. It was as if only a few minutes had passed as he stepped out of the carriage and escorted me to my door. Thanking me for an extremely lovely night, he kissed the back of my hand and left. In my excitement to write, I forgot to take off my dress so I need to go do that and get ready for bed. Perhaps I will dream of us dancing again…

The First Kiss: A Target That Is Getting Missed
It feel like forever since I have last written and I guess it has been awhile. This past month has been absolutely amazing. Jokyshe is such an amazing man. Yet he seems so self-centered at times. I guess an ego comes with being one of the most adored person in the royal guard. However, it really bothers me sometimes that he thinks so much about himself.
Jokyshe has gotten more accustomed to me I think because he is finally loosening up. He takes me on long walks down the paths of the royal court yard when he is off duty. While we never talk about anything serious, it is nice just to have someone to hold hands with and have somebody with whom to share the moment. While I enjoy our evenings together, he hasn't even tried to kiss me. While I don't want him to rush our first kiss, there have been some great moments for it to occur. There were times when I almost thought it was going to happen, at least the moment was just right. We would be sitting on one of the benches with nothing really to say. He would look at me and softly smile. However, he always stands up just at the peak of the moment. I am not sure whether he is nervous or what, but it gets really annoying sometimes. I just want to tell him to try it already. I want to tell him to stop messing up the moment! I don't want to hurt his feelings, though, so I have remained quiet.
On another note, he is taking me to the annual Snowflake Festival which should be lots of fun. He even gave me this dazzling five stone purple necklace which is absolutely gorgeous. So my parents bought me a royal purple dress to go along with my necklace. Hopefully he will like it. I think I am going to spiral curl my hair for this dance. He really liked my hair last time. So I think this time I will really let my hair dangle around my shoulders. However, the dance is still a week away so I have plenty of time to decide. Well I guess that is all I have to say, so I will try to write soon...

Tuesday
What a Suprise!
So the ball was absolutely gorgeous! There were streamers, banners, and shimmering crystal candles everywhere. The king gave a congratulation speech to all the tournament champions, giving Stanton his highest honor for being the grand tournament champion. After the speech, servants served us the most amazing dinner that I have ever partaken in. There were all kinds of fruits and meats, all it cooked wonderfully. The smells were so delicious!
After the meal, the king took to the floor with the queen at his side and started the dancing. To be honest they were kind of intimidating because their dancing was so graceful and eloquent. After one dance, the king retook the throne and everyone else took to the floor.
Dancing with Jokyshe was different to say the least. He seemed really awkward dancing with me. The way he acted, I don't think he has ever danced with a female before. I hear that all knights must learn to dance, but that most of them learn from male instructors. It was kind of funny to say the least, but I didn't laugh as Jokyshe had to stop dancing at one point to regain his composer. Later that night as we walked out onto the palace balcony he apologized to me saying, "Sorry about having to take a break when we first started dancing. It is just that I have never had to deal with feeling what I feel when I hold you."
"It's all right, I am just glad that you asked me to come with you. You did a really amazing job winning the sword master competition." I smiled.
"Thanks, but I should have won the joust too. I can't believe I lost to Stanton. He has been beaten before and it really bugs me." He replied.
"Men, they really know how to ruin a moment" I thought.
After a few minutes of silence, he asked, "You know, you are the first girl that I thought of to ask to this ball. And...you know... well like I said, I really have some feelings for you, and... and I was wondering... you know, like if you would consider courting me?"
I almost leaped out of my dress when he asked me that. "Of course!" I replied, trying to remain somewhat calm, but bursting with joy inside.
"You.. you would?" Jokyshe asked with surprise, "I figured that beautiful girls such as yourself would never consider allow me to court them. Wow."
"Oh, why thank you." I replied, stunned at Jokyshe calling me out his league. "How about we dance some more?"
"Ok sure." Jokyshe replied as he took my hand and we went back into the hall for a few more dances before he finally brought me home. So needless to say I am flying high tonight. Not only was the ball amazing, but now I am being courted. My mom and sister were really happy for me. Well, I am really tired from all the dancing and my head is still spinning, so I am going to head to bed. Talk to you later. . .

Royal Ball
Yea! Jokyshe is the sword master champion. However, he failed to make tournament champion by one point. Stanton took both the joust and the ax throw making him the tournament champion. However, I get to go to the royal ball which should be lots of fun. They say that the king bring out the royal magicians at his balls. Rumor has it that the magicians are extremely talented and can make entire buildings disappear from sight or send you to survey the Cloud Titan's kingdom. Wouldn't that be something?
My mom said that she once attended a ball when dad took her after he won the lancing competition back in his youth. She said that the king spares no expense which makes me all the more excited. So I have spent to best part of the day preparing myself. My hair took forever but my sister really made me look like a princess. She curled my bangs and put the rest of my hair up behind my head in a messy bun with two longer curls hanging about my face which would supposedly bring attention to my beautiful eyes. My dress is a gorgeous white with a glimmering transparent skirt over the bottom half creating the appearance of sparkling white snow. It must have cost my parents a fortune, but they said that to be taken to the king's ball is a real honor. Well, I had better finish getting ready, talk to you later. . .

Introduction
Well, yesterday marked my seventeenth birthday and I couldn't be any happier. One of the knights in King Relylo royal guard asked to ride in the upcoming tournament with my favor! I have never had a knight ask me for my favor before. His name is Jokyshe and is the talk of all the women. My mom says I should be careful because men that have everything going for them tend to developed huge egos, which leads to relationship problems. I don't know about that, but what I do know is that he has definitely swept me off my feet. I still can't believe he asked me out of all the other women that have been trying to get him to ask for their favor.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if he won? I would get to go to the royal ball escorted by the tournament champion. Can things get any better? While, there is a lot of competition in the tournament, I am sure that Jokyshe's speed and agility will easily propel him to victory. The only obstacle is Stanton. Stanton is a lot bigger that Jokyshe and more experienced, however, he is also a lot slower, which means Jokyshe should have the advantage in both the sword and jousting championship.
Well, I will let you know how it goes. Right now I need to go and decide what to wear and what handkerchief I should give to Jokyshe as a symbol of my favor, so I will talk to you later.
